Important Update: Learning Time Checkout
Dulce Elementary families, we are making an important adjustment to support student learning and safety.
Learning Time Checkout means checking your student out during the school day before regular dismissal.
Beginning immediately, Learning Time Checkout will end at 3:00 p.m. Student dismissal will remain at the regular time of 3:50 p.m.
The final 45 minutes of the school day are some of the most important learning minutes for our students.
During this time, teachers are providing small-group instruction, one-on-one support, tutoring, and reviewing important skills in reading and math.
At Dulce Elementary, we have an elevated sense of urgency to help every student become a stronger reader, build important math skills, and reach their highest potential.
Protecting this learning time helps our students continue to grow and succeed.
We appreciate your partnership and support as we work together to keep our students safe and learning strong.

Dulce Middle and High School Volleyball practice schedule is as follows:
Pre-season Volleyball - August 3-6, 2026 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm

Starting Monday, August 10th, 2026:

Middle School Volleyball practice - 4:30-6pm
High School Volleyball practice- 6pm-8pm

Pre-season, Middle School and High School practices will take place at the DAC

DMS Football Practice will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2026, through Friday, August 7, 2026, from 5pm-7pm at the Dulce Elementary soccer field.

DMS Football equipment will be issued at the DAC today, August 3, 2026 at 5pm. You can meet coach Sutherland White at the back entrance of the DAC for equipment. Please do not enter the DAC through the main front entrance.

Welcome back, DISD students and families! We hope you enjoyed your summer break and are well-rested for another learning packed school year. All students will begin their school day at their respective school sites. Elementary begins at 7:50. Middle and high school begins at 8:10. After lunch, all students will be going to the DAC for a Back to School Carnival. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend, where you will receive a copy of the New Dulce Schools Handbook, which has important information for the upcoming school year. Principals will review a few components of the handbook with students and families for approximately 20 to 30 minutes. After the review, students will be able to visit the different carnival booths. Parents that join the carnival may check their students out from the DAC. Regular bus routes will pick students up from the DAC. If students are pick-up and not bus riders, they can be picked up at the DAC at their regular dismissal time: Elementary at 3:50; Middle and High Schools at 4:10. Thank you and enjoy your last few hours of summer!

Beginning of year Home Visits for Elementary Preschool students will be scheduled with families throughout the week of August 3-6 before school starts for PreK students. School staff will be contacting families to arrange these visits.

First Day of PreK will be August 10.

Middle and High School teachers will supply required school supplies for each class on the first class day. If you would like to provide your students with one spiral notebook, pencils, a pen, and a highlighter for the first day, you may. Teachers will have basic school supplies for your students to begin the school year until those lists are provided and you have had time to shop.

Reminder from Dulce Independent Schools

If you have not yet completed your child's online registration for the 2026–2027 school year, please do so as soon as possible. All new and returning students must be registered before the first day of school.

Returning students: Parents/guardians should complete registration using the Snapcode that was emailed to them through PowerSchool Enrollment.

New students: Parents/guardians must complete the New Student Registration process through PowerSchool Enrollment.

If you did not receive your Snapcode email or need assistance with registration, please contact your school office as soon as possible. Completing registration before school begins helps us prepare for your child's arrival and ensures a smooth start to the school year.

**Dulce Independent Schools Invites the Community to a Listening Session**

Your voice matters, and we want to hear from you!

Join Dulce Independent Schools for a community listening session on **Monday, June 15, 2026**, from **5:30 PM to 6:30 PM** in the **Dulce Middle School Cafeteria** located at **125 Hawks Drive, Dulce, NM**.

This session is an opportunity for parents, students, staff, community members, and stakeholders to share their thoughts and provide feedback on important topics impacting our schools, including:

• 4-Day School Week
• Student Attendance
• Parent-School Collaboration

Community members may attend in person or join virtually via Zoom. A QR code and comment submission form are available on the event flyer for those who would like to participate remotely or provide written feedback.

A light dinner will be served for those attending in person.

The success of our schools depends on strong partnerships between families, educators, and the community. We encourage everyone to attend, ask questions, share ideas, and help shape the future of Dulce Independent Schools.
