Assistant Principal
Dulce, New Mexico
Teaching is the call of the heart. A serious adage I realized because I stayed in this profession up until now and am determined to stay on and on….
I started in Dulce Independent Schools District in 2021 as Reading Specialist. I am one of the Young Warriors Student Council advisors up until now. This year, a promising challenge is given to me as Assistant Principal in Dulce Elementary School.
I finished Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Management and Special Education (BENEMERITUS), Master of Arts in English (SUMMA CUM LAUDE) and Bachelor in Secondary Education in the Philippines.
I have a Level Three-B Administrator License from the State of Mexico and three other licenses with Reading and TESOL endorsements.
I was an Assistant Professor 4 in the University of the Philippines Professional Studies, teaching master’s students and Coordinator of two departments: Gender and Development and the Office of the Anti-Sexual Harassment. I taught elementary, high school and college students in various schools and departments of state colleges and universities both in private and public sectors in education. I served international students through the international linkages with students from Japan (Otemae University and Ichikawa Prefecture High School ), South Korea (Kyungin Women’s College), and other Asian countries.
I garnered recognition in international conventions and conferences through research and development, community engagements and extension services. To name a few:
Best Presenter and People’s Choice Awardee, 2nd International Research Conference on Teacher Education and Indigenous Peoples Education, Research title: “ Enhancing Language Competence of Indigenous People Through Conceptualization and Development of Multi-lingual Illustrated Dictionary.”
Presenter, Japan in the World, The World in Japan, Shukugawa Campus, Japan
I had published collaborative journals with professors from University of the Philippines
Research Titles:
-“ Training teachers to develop interactive multimedia ESL courseware to ASEAN community and Sustainable Development”
- “Developing reciprocity, intercultural competence, and content learning through international service learning”
- Needs Assessment of the Graduate School of University of Bohol
-featured in KOAT Action News 7 in May 6, 2020 with news title: “ Special Education Teacher gives students “Super Surprise”
But with all my academic achievements, I greatly treasure being a servant to others through the HOPE Channel Philippines. I was a volunteer newscaster while my daughter Chine Britney Malaque who is currently working on her Nursing and Prelaw was a volunteer script writer and my son, Chino Svendborg Malaque who is also taking up Nursing was a cameraman. While my husband, Lino Malaque works back and forth the Philippines and USA as a chief mate in international cargo vessels, the family learned to stand strong amidst various challenges.
I believe that for education to be valuable, it should not only improve the mind but greatly … transforms the heart…
Iheedn!
Maraming Salamat!
Thank you very much!
